12, 2009 In this Chair Shiatsu course, the participant will be able to demonstrate a protocol and variety of techniques for a twenty minute Chair Shiatsu therapy. Shiatsu is Japanese medical bodywork. The primary technique of Shiatsu is gentle, deep pressure, using fingers (shi means finger and atsu means pressure in Japanese). This pressure is given without oil, on a clothed client. The combination of very relaxing pressure and a clothed client makes Shiatsu an ideal application for a chair therapy.
